Introduction

Being a topic, which is often captured in today’s news and vast amount of public information I found it interesting to conduct some exploratory data analysis (EDA).

SQL is a great platform to conduct our EDA. SQL offers aggregate functions, views and much more on large amounts of data. The full commented code can be found using the button below.

Findings

Western developed countries seem to have a higher percentage infected by COVID. This may mean better herd immunity or could possibly be different recordings of cases. It hardly seems likely that only 0.03% of Yemen have caught COVID especially with 5.8% being recorded in the bordering country, Oman.

In alignment with the findings above Europe has had the highest number of recorded deaths. Overall, a person picked at random from those who have caught COVID has had a 2% chance of death.
